The background notes are the Dept of Environment's approval and excerpts from the CSIRO and Geoscience Australia reports.
In response to the Queensland Government’s decision to approve Adani’s coal mine and their associated Black–throated finch conservation plan (which may send yet another species to extinction), artists are channelling their despair at this unnecessary environmental destruction, into a silent protest, by creating artworks depicting the Black-throated Finch (directly impacted by the Adani mine). These will be compiled and sent to the Government ministers responsible.
