On 5th February 2021, I attended the opening of the 'Traces V' exhibition at the Belconnen Arts Centre, which included my entry 'Two Minutes 'til Midnight' (Pen & ink, colour pencil, acrylic paint).
My artwork depicts the Doomsday Clock on the back of a robotic bee counting down to midnight, as locusts and a blowfly watch on.
The theme of 'Traces V' investigates the impact of climate change, environmental devastation, global health crises and transformation, what traces they leave behind (both physical and psychological) and the process of recovery and renewal. Many of the entries this year have focussed on the bush fires and Covid19.
